Agneepath Movie Review by Movie Critics
Taran Adarsh (BollywoodHungama.com) 4.5/5
AGNEEPATH is an uncomplicated story of revenge, is hard-hitting yet entertaining, dwells on strong emotions and aggressive and forceful action, yet is dissimilar from the original. Debutant director Karan Malhotra sponges from the original, but bestows the new version with a fresh texture. AGNEEPATH is a fitting tribute to the masterwork. The movie has all the potential to scale dizzy heights of victory and catapult Hrithik Roshan as the newest member of the 100 cr Club, besides providing the Hindi film industry with the first giant Blockbuster of 2012. A definite winner!
Rajeev Masand (CNN-IBN) 3/5
It is in the end, an old-fashioned revenge drama treated in that melodramatic, over-the-top style. You’re not likely to be bored by the intense action and the solid performances, but prepare to be exhausted by just how long this film plays on.
Joginder Tuteja (IndiaGlitz.com) 3/5
Eventually ‘Agneepath’ turns out to be a film that starts off well, builds great momentum, has a wonderful interval point but then starts going down in the second half in a big way. So much so that by the time the moment of reckoning arrives, you have been so exhausted with at least 30-40 minutes of extended storytelling that you don’t really give out a cry of euphoria when Vijay Deenanath Chauhan eventually emerges victorious.
Sonia Chopra (Sify Movies) 3/5
If you’re a loyalist of the Late Mukul Anand’s Agneepath, you’re likely to have reservations with this one. But if you leave the comparisons aside and are willing to forgive the faults, Agneepath is worth a watch essentially to savor Hrithik’s performance.
Kunal Guha (Yahoo Movies) 3/5
The biggest dilemma of remaking a movie is how much to retain and what to retain. If the new story takes violent shifts, you lose the audience who came to revisit the original. If you photocopy scene-by-scene, you risk failing to connect with the audience who is accustomed to present sensibilities. The only safe bet: a ‘khichdi’ of the past and the present, like this one.
Sukanya Verma (Rediff) 3/5
less of a remake, more of a tribute. They should have just called it Dharmapath.
Mayank Shekhar (Hindustan Times) 3/5
The external logic of a star driven, fantasy fed film such as this may not be easy to gulp for many. The internal logic, or the reason you believe it all, depends a lot on the credibility of the headlining performance. Bachchan’s irreplaceable, of course. So is Hrithik, India’s hardest working, most intense super-star, ever.
Avijit Ghosh (The Times of India) 3.5/5
Dutt’s performance doesn’t entirely help the movie’s cause. On the contrary, it upsets Agneepath’s symmetry. Compared to him, the more restrained and refined Hrithik, normally a competent performer, often appears pale. Try to wipe out the movie’s earlier version from your mind. You might find it more enjoyable.
Piyali Dasgupta (NDTV Movies) 3.5/5
The pace falters in both the first and second half despite the action. It doesn’t escape the usual Hindi film fail – it’s too long. A pointless song, a few extra flashbacks spoil a hardcore Bollywood masala flick. But here’s the thing. Watch this film because this one is unadulterated Bollywood entertainment.
Komal Nahta (KoiMoi.com) 4/5
The first half is heavier than the second half and also seems a bit too long. But it does have its riveting moments. There may be people who object to the late entry of Hrithik Roshan but grammatically, the childhood of Vijay had to be established very well for the revenge drama to appeal as much as it does. So the writers have done the right thing by concentrating on Vijay’s childhood portions in the first few reels. The second half may be more violent but it moves at a much faster pace. The climax is very mass-appealing and satisfying. Dialogues, penned by Piyush Mishra, are well-suited to the drama but a section of the audience will miss the high-voltage and filmi dialogues which could’ve evoked claps.
Kaveree Bamzai (India Today) 4/5
The film is a metaphor for the world we live in and Mandwa, the benighted Mandwa, which sold its soul for the money it expected to come from cocaine, is what India is today… A nation which watches helplessly as its soul is stolen.

Don 2 Movie Review by Movie Critics
Taran Adarsh (BollywoodHungama.com) 3.5/5
The film has a bland first hour, but the second half takes the film to another level
Rajeev Masand (CNN IBN) 2/5
Don 2 is spectacularly boring! the makers borrow ideas from some fine capers like Ocean’s Eleven and the Mission Impossible movies. Still what they deliver in the end is a clunky and spectacularly boring film that is neither smart nor particularly fun.
Komal Nahta (KoiMoi.com) 3.5/5
The first half, however, moves at a leisurely pace and takes a while to come to the point. It is after interval that the pace picks up but even in the post-interval part, the initial reels are too technical and get confusing for the average viewer. But the last few reels are very engrossing and the revelation of the suspense (like in the first part, Don) is the highlight. Intrigue, suspense, style and drama – the four highlights of Don – are in evidence in the sequel too.
Raja Sen (Rediff) 2.5/5
This is one man’s film, and he — like the film itself — looks really good, but ends up being a drag
Nikhat Kazmi (The Times of India) 4/5
Don 2 is a classic action/crime thriller that doesn’t let go, even for a moment. More importantly, the plot has been finely crafted, with every twist and turn falling into place like a complicated albeit neat little jigsaw.
Aniruddha Guha (DNA India) 3/5
Characters say boring, random things to each other, there’s a pointlessly long dance sequence and the attempt at dialoguebaazi is laughable. What keeps Don 2 alive, then, is its pulsating action.
Mayank Shekhar 1.5/5
The picture promises to never end. It gets hard to carry on with inane inventiveness, when you just couldn’t care less.
Piyali Dasgupta (NDTV Movies) 2.5/5
Don 2 in 3D is a waste, so don’t fret if you haven’t booked for a 3D show. In fact, don’t fret if you haven’t booked a show at all.The King is yet to return. Meanwhile since Hrithik’s cameo is the highpoint of the film and the plot does have a few interesting twists.
Martin D’Souza (Glamsham.com) 1/5
Farhan Akhtar, as we all know, has set very high standards in Bollywood. So DON 2, which has no story, dialogues which are ‘college class’ and no direction comes as a surprise.
Khalid Mohamed (Deccan Chronicle) 2/5
Shah Rukh Khan handles all the acting pyrotechnics. He’s bankable in a film that isn’t
Shubhra Gupta (Indian Express) 2.5/5
‘Don 2′ needed an energized, crackling plot. What it has, in almost too much abundance, is SRK dripping dimpled coolth. But cool can only take you so far.
